With the corona cases on the rise, the state government has not yet started educational institutions, including schools and colleges, in the interest of students. While educational institutions have been closed for the last 8 months, a resolution has been passed to waive the current year’s property tax of all educational institutions falling under the purview of the Municipal Corporation in Ahmedabad city. As per the vacancy policy of the corporation, a resolution to waive the annual tax of more than 1000 educational institutions in Ahmedabad city will be approved in tomorrow’s meeting. The decision, which came with a percentage of Congress corporators Shahnawaz Sheikh and Azra Qadri, will be decided by the Revenue Committee.

Congress corporator Shahnawaz Sheikh in a conversation with DivyaBhaskar said that the corporation has a vacancy policy and its benefits should also accrue to educational institutions.
